Iko Hanging Chair

Iko

Iko is a hanging chair designed as a quiet retreat within open offices. The form is based on the icosahedron, one of the five Platonic solids, and this geometry gives the design its name. The main structure combines wooden elements with CNC-milled metal cylinders. Triangular acoustic panels are covered with pure wool textile, and the seat is filled with grain husk. The chair hangs from hemp ropes. Iko can be used to read, focus, make a phone call, work or rest, without disturbing other people in the same room.

Iko Hanging Chair by Ivo Andric has been highlighted as an innovative example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Iko Hanging Chair was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Office Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Office Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition which rewards outstanding design of desks, chairs, file cabinets, conference tables, cubicles, workstations, reception counters, office partitions and more.
